The Dream Factory of Memphis is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to granting dreams to critically and chronically ill children age three (3) through eighteen (18) without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation or economic status.
The Memphis Chapter was founded in 1985 by Stephen Douglas, who was fighting his own battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Shortly after realizing his dream to start the chapter, Stephen passed away — but he left a legacy that has touched more than 590 children and families.
Nationally, the Dream Factory was founded in 1980 by Charles Henault of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and is the largest all-volunteer children’s wish-granting organization that does not limit its mission to children with life-threatening illness. We believe children with chronic illnesses and disorders also endure substantial emotional and physical pain.
Disney World is our most popular — but kids have also chosen Alaska, New York City, Disney cruises and the beach.
From authors like Max Lucado to the Savannah Bananas, we find a way to open the right door.
Shopping sprees, a custom truck lift, even a backyard cabin — the list goes on.
You can help by volunteering or through your generous donations.
